NYC Midnight Screenwriting Competition

NYC MIDNIGHT SCREENWRITING CHALLENGE

To keep myself sane throughout various lockdowns in 2020-2021, I took part in several of the NYC Midnight Screenwriting Challenges. Each round of the challenge came with a tight deadline (varying from 8 days to 48 hours) and 3 prompts, that included any of the following: genre, location, character, object, etc.

I reached the final of the competition in 2020 with the script below: RETURNED TO SENDER.


RETURNED TO SENDER

An elite team of elves are tasked with returning a beloved, lost toy. Elf meets Line of Duty.

This comedy/action caper placed 8th in the final of the NYC Midnight Short Screenplay Competition 2020;

BYE-BYE MOTHER

A short fantasy/comedy screenplay about end of life care.

This dark comedy won second place in the first round of the NYC Midnight Short Screenplay Competition 2020.

ON GOOD BEHAVIOUR

A short thriller about guilt and revenge.

This cat-and-mouse thriller was awarded third place in the first round of the NYC Midnight Screenplay Competition 2020.

WEDNESDAY

A short, long-distance, romantic comedy.

This workplace comedy placed 4th in the second round of the NYC Midnight Short Screenplay Competition 2020.
